- Pushing the codon language model stress-testing further after giving two talks at IOB this month: the asymmetry between the virus and host classes, a properly constructed dataset and task set, and whether the read-out can be moved by objective rather than by scale. The related workshop submission from August is still under review.
- Writing up the lineage-specific gene chapter of the dissertation, with the field nursery data now in from a full season. Next on the list is Ribo-seq for translation evidence, which is the piece the current story is missing.
- Consulting part-time with the Computational Biology Consulting Group at IOB — currently building a 16S metagenomics pipeline for a mouse gut microbiome dataset.
- Finishing and defending my PhD dissertation, now expected Fall/Winter 2026, and looking for computational biology and ML research roles starting Fall 2026.
