Mentoring
I have mentored undergraduate researchers in bioinformatics workflows and phenotyping at UGA (2021–2025), and in genome-wide sequence analysis at NTU (2017–2018). The NTU mentee won first prize at the departmental poster competition.
Guest lecturing
Guest lecturer for Methods in Horticultural Research (IV) at National Taiwan University, teaching RNA-seq analysis to an audience with no computational background. Releasing the lecture material ahead of the session doubled expected attendance.
I also wrote RNA-Sick, a 14-day Traditional-Chinese tutorial that takes biologists from the command line to a differential-expression result (terminal → Anaconda → Python → SRA → QC → assembly → annotation → alignment → quantification → edgeR).
Seminar organizing
Elected BIGSA Representative (2022–2023) and organizer of the Institute of Bioinformatics seminar series at UGA. I also recorded and hosted the talks; speakers included:

To make the talks searchable afterwards, I set up automated transcription with Whisper (IOB_seminar_transcript) — inspired at the time by Andrej Karpathy’s Whisper transcription of the Lex Fridman podcast, though that idea is far less novel now.
Community platforms
As Technology Consultant and IT Group Convener at the Taiwanese Young Researchers Association (Project TYRA), I built the platform behind a mentor–mentee matching program that grew from 274 to 700+ annual participants across 4 cohorts and facilitated 1,876 researcher connections. The organization later partnered with Fulbright Taiwan and government education agencies. I also deployed an automated event pipeline (Eventbrite API plus scheduling automation) for the weekly seminar series.

I served as Director of Marketing and Communication for UGA’s PhD Consulting Club (July–December 2025), where I tripled club membership across departments and ran weekly structured case practice sessions.
